St Kilda, South Australia, is a small historic seaside suburb of Adelaide, located approximately 24 kilometres from the CBD. The township comprises around 50 houses and sits on a narrow strip of land surrounded by water, just five kilometres off Port Wakefield Road, one of Adelaide’s major arterial highways. Access is also available via the Northern Connector Freeway, which has a dedicated turn-off to St Kilda.
The St Kilda Adventure Park is located on Fooks Terrace and is a major attraction for the area. St Kilda forms part of the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary and features a popular boat ramp, fishing from the breakwater, and extensive recreational facilities. The Adventure Park offers a wide range of unique play equipment, including a castle, shipwreck, slippery dips and more. A large car park is available and is suitable for cars, RVs and boat trailers.
From 1 December 2025 to 30 November 2026, RVs are permitted to stay for up to three days at no cost due to government support following algal blooms that have impacted boating and recreational fishing in South Australian waters. After the three-day stay, visitors must move on but may return after a three-week break for another three-day stopover. On arrival guests will need to pick up a free registration form from the kiosk.
Facilities include potable water, toilets, rubbish bins and covered seating. As of January 2026, the nearest dump point is approximately 10 kilometres away at the OTR Truck Stop. The Electric Tram Museum is open on public holidays and Sunday afternoons. The Tackle and Tucker Kiosk (08 8280 9355) and the St Kilda Hotel are both within easy walking distance for meals, while a large shopping centre is located at Burton, approximately eight kilometres away.
